About

Mother, military wife, artist, writer, witch: my name is Ellery Faye, and I’m a woman of many hats. I was raised as a Catholic but ultimately found spirituality in the primal cultures that make up my family. My mother brought Zen Buddhism into our family, as well as I-Chang, Feng Shui, and an appreciation for Traditional Chinese Medicine. My father taught me not only to love nature but how to survive off it; additionally, he and my Irish grandmother encouraged me to study Celtic and Germanic history, culture, and mythology.

While I have a profound interest in history and culture, my passion is art and music. I love to paint and my pieces have received local awards as well as some museum time. As for music, I’ve been playing piano since I was eight but also play the cláirseach (Irish wire-strung harp), the Irish tin whistle, the erhu (Chinese 2-string fiddle), and guitar. Eventually, I will learn to play the bagpipes.

My other interests include wildlife conservation, windsurfing, martial arts, yoga, learning French (just because I can), crafts, tea set collecting, and candle-making. I’m also pretty good at baking, online shopping, and losing track of time. I could eat Indian food and watch Jim Henson movies all day long.

This is a personal blog written by yours truly. Its contents explore aspects of eclectic witchcraft as it applies to my life; this includes everything from spells, candles, and oils to mythology, theology, and elements of the occult – but with lighthearted flare (and copious amounts of glitter).

I do moderate all comments to ensure content quality remain positive and constructive. I welcome people to share their opinions and/or criticisms so long as they retain the aforementioned virtues. Also know that I do read all comments and will take time to personally reflect and address any (sane) question and/or comment.

Although I check my facts and do my research, my entries and articles are best described as ‘opinion-based.’ I never aim to offend, but I will address subjects as I perceive and/or understand them – and won’t apologize for it (because I’m an Aquarius and we’re intractable like that).
